The AI Business Brain

About Us

Our Mission

To give every organization an AI Business Brain that connects its people, meetings, decisions, documents, compliance, and actions, so nothing important is forgotten and everyone knows what to do next.

Our Vision

A future where every organization operates with connected intelligence, remembers everything that matters, and turns every decision into meaningful action.

We remember. You be brilliant.

Why We Exist

Most organizations run on memory.

And memory leaves when people do.

“Where is that document?” “Who approved this?” “What did the board actually decide?” In most organizations the answer lives in one person’s head — or split across attorneys, inboxes, spreadsheets, shared drives, government websites, and software that never talks to anything else.

Decisions disappear

The board votes, someone writes minutes, and the decision is never seen again — least of all by the person who has to carry it out.

Records scatter

Bylaws in a drive. Minutes in an inbox. The cap table in a spreadsheet. Filings on a state website. Nothing knows about anything else.

Compliance becomes an emergency

Deadlines are tracked by hand, on a calendar one person maintains, and discovered late by everyone else.

Knowledge walks out the door

A director resigns. An executive director retires. Years of context on why the organization works the way it does leaves with them.

These are not four software problems. They are one problem wearing four hats: organizations have no connected memory.

Our Founder

Ten years in the boardroom. The same problem every time.

Michael Barrick, founder and CEO of EntityEngine

Michael Barrick built EntityEngine after living both halves of the problem.

First as a founder, asking the questions every new business owner asks. How do I form this properly? What records am I supposed to keep? Where do important decisions go? He found the answers scattered across six places that did not agree with each other. Starting the company turned out to be the easy part. Keeping it organized, governed, and compliant was the hard part.

Then from the other side of the table. For more than a decade he has worked with boards of directors, executives, founders, and nonprofit leaders on governance, meetings, and corporate records — as the founder of Board Director and Board Director Institute, and as the author of The Beginner’s Guide to Nonprofit Boards.

Every organization was different. The problem was always the same. Decisions buried in minutes. Records in five systems. Board members who could not find what they needed. Compliance run off a spreadsheet. New executives inheriting almost nothing.

EntityEngine is what he built in response.

What We Built

One connected record, for the whole life of an organization.

Not another place to store files. Not another project tracker. Not a board portal that wakes up a week before the meeting. EntityEngine is a system that understands how your organization was formed, who has authority, what was decided, which documents matter, what is coming due — and what should happen next.

How the organization was formed

Articles, bylaws, filings, registered agent, and the record behind each one.

Who has authority to act

Directors, officers, committees, members, and the approvals each role actually carries.

What was discussed and decided

Motions, votes, minutes, resolutions, and consents — linked to what caused them.

What is owed, and what is next

Obligations tracked before they are urgent, and decisions connected to the work that follows.

An organization is more than a pile of documents. It is people, roles, authority, meetings, decisions, obligations, and work — and those pieces only mean something when they are connected.

Who We Build For

The people carrying the responsibility.

Founders

Building something from nothing, who need it formed correctly the first time — and kept that way.

Nonprofit executive directors

Carrying a mission, a board, a staff, and a filing calendar, usually all at once.

Small and mid-sized businesses

That need stronger systems without standing up an administrative department to run them.

Boards and leadership teams

Who want to govern responsibly and work from the same trusted source of truth.

Most of all, it is built for the people who are expected to remember everything.

What We Believe

Five things we build on.

  1. Organizational knowledge should survive turnover. It belongs to the organization, not to whoever happens to remember it.
  2. A decision is not finished until it is recorded, connected to its authority, and assigned to someone.
  3. Compliance should be proactive. A deadline you learn about on the due date is a system failure.
  4. Boards and management should work from the same record, not from two versions of the truth.
  5. Software should take work off the table, not become one more system somebody has to maintain.

And one more, which is really a house rule: we would rather tell you exactly where we are than imply more. That is how we wrote our security page, and it is how we intend to talk to you.

EntityEngine is a facilitation platform. It is not a law firm, government agency, bank, licensed fiduciary, or official corporate registry, and nothing here is legal advice. Where regulated activities are required, they are performed by licensed or regulated third-party partners.

We remember. You be brilliant.
